Monday, I shot the president (as in took pictures of him)

Dont' worry, I'm not a criminal.

Monday I had the chance, for the first time, to take pictures in an event where there was gonna be the portuguese president, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. It was the opening ceremony for the new headquarters of a charity group called Amigas do Peito, that help women with breast cancer.

I had never been in a situation with so much security guards and restrictions on where we could be to take pictures. Even though I did accidentally wander off into the zone that was exclusive for the official photographers, and was there for a few minutes until someone told me I couldn't be there. I didn't get into trouble. I was just asked to go to another place.

It was a new experience and a good one. My favorite shot of the day is the second one I present below, when the cardinal patriarch of Lisbon, D. António Ribeiro, was blessing the place. We where ordered to be on the stairs that led to the upper floor, so I had a limited angle for the shot, but I love how the door framed the image and how everyone is looking at him.

Because I was taking pictures for Just News, the photos have their watermark.
